Streamlining conference networking using AI:
1) Get the participant list from your upcoming trade show or conference. Typically, these are publicly available. For me, it was a (long) plain text file listing exhibitors and participants.
2) Upload the participant list to ChatGPT (use the o3 model – it is worth it) and clearly define what you are looking for. In my case, I asked:
“I have a list of participants in a trade show. You know my background and my company’s expertise. We are interested in companies in the chemical sector facing challenges in operational excellence, carbon credits, data-driven decision-making, crystallization technologies. Be thorough, search the internet for relevant info, and prioritize based on the likelihood of initiating projects.”
3) Get your prioritized list: It took ChatGPT less about 5 minutes to read the list, do research and generate a focused shortlist for me.
The whole process took under 30 minutes. Reaching out and setting meetings is more time-consuming, I expect that AI will soon be doing that for me too.
